Alternative Resources & Referrals
- Knowing your HIV status is important. The only way to know your status is by getting tested. Testing can be done in the privacy of your home. Eligible NYS residents can request a free HIV home test kit by clicking here! Those in NYC (Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island) can access a free HIV home test kit from the Together TakeMeHome (TTMH program).
- If you believe you were exposed to HIV, go to your nearest hospital emergency room right away to access PEP – do not wait. PEP is a medication you can take after an HIV-exposure that may prevent HIV infection.
- To access emergency PEP to prevent HIV infection call the New York State PEP Hotline at (844) PEP4NOW (844-737-4669), if located in New York City contact the NYC PEP Hotline at (844) 3-PEPNYC (844-373-7692).
- If you are in crisis, feeling suicidal, or in need of emotional support, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 24/7 by dialing 988 or 1-800-273-8255.
- If you are in any immediate danger, please call 911.
